Ok name the schools we could add that boost our money payouts
I will wait

If we had UCF, Cincinnati and WVU we would
At least be in a stronger position to survive than the Big 12 still could put pressure on Notre Dame. However if Notre Dame would not come in get Houston.

ACC has vetted almost all available candidates
And none of them added value to the TV contract or ESPN would have greenlight them for expansion. UCF would add nothing of value to the ACC Network because FSU and Miami are already in Florida, and WV is too small of a state (that is shrinking) that they would have a negative impact to each school's ACC Network payouts. Not all additions will bring in enough revenue to make it worthwhile.

That splits the existing money pie even smaller per school
That is going the wrong way

The teams that are left will add even less value -
No way to maneuver and destined to be smallest of all conferences except for the defunct PAC 12

Where?
Stubbornness of the ACC has push them really far behind. The ACC should have took West Virginia and Cincinnati but “academically it would not fit.” Money is driving the ship not academics.

Both of those schools would be mistakes

and neither of those produce the money needed to add them
that's why they weren't added, not because of academics.

Expand with who?
Unless we were gonna beat the BIG to LA, who were/are we gonna expand with that generates more revenue than they will get paid? Easy to say the ACC should have, but let's set the clock back to before TX / OU. Who would we expand with and why would they join?

It’s about what ESPN is willing to pay for, this isn’t driven by the Conf.!
That’s really critical to understand.

The ACC should make cornhole, pickle ball, and CrossFit official sports
This will bring ESPN back to the negotiating table with the ACC.

If it's almost a sport, you'll find it here on ESPN8, The Ocho!
They do appear to be dedicated to cornhole and pickleball though. 🤣 So sad they couldn't pony up some for football. Maybe ESPN is guilty of Breach of Good Faith with this 2036 GoR thing. They certainly don't care if they wreck the ACC. Could damages be involved?

The ACC is again a day late and dollar short. One flagship member publicly
wants out. Another - Clemson - almost assuredly does as well although they are whiter in their approach. Big 12 and B1G have snapped up just about all the best the PAC 10 has to offer. Maybe the ACC could get Stanford, Cal, OSU and Washington State. But they may be more inclined to join the Mountain West, which is a far better cultural and geographical fit, than an ACC that could end up being no better than the Mountain West athletically when the game of musical chairs is finished. And if the ACC is considering UCONN and Army, then stick a fork in us.

If the ACC is considering anyone you mentioned..
we should just go to the BIG 12 now or better yet, fold the athletic department. Yes I'm kidding, but every single one of those, plus WV, ECU, Navy, South Florida and any other of those that get thrown around now and then are just moronic. ** Edited by Vienna_Hokie at 8/4/2023, 7:59:06 PM

Nobody wants Oregon state or Washington state
The only programs that were attractive were Oregon and Washington. The rest don't grow the pie. Expansion is a horrible idea unless you are talking about Notre Dame. If anything, need to contract.

The ACC has always been a lagger. Always reacting.
