“For one thing, college athletic conferences across the country are in a state of flux: The Southeastern Conference raided the Big 12 for Texas and Oklahoma. The Big 10 just raided the Pac-12 for Southern California and UCLA. San Diego State has told the Mountain West it’s leaving, presumably to join the Pac-12. The schools in the Atlantic Coast Conference are bound together by a legal agreement called a “grant of rights” but some of them aren’t happy about this. They see other conferences — namely, the Big 10 and SEC — raking in a lot more television dollars than they are. Sports Illustrated recently reported that seven ACC schools, including Virginia and Virginia Tech, were evaluating their options.”

who knows consider that they have only been in same for 20 yrs. we can
still play as OOC opponents if the ACC implodes and each joined another conference

the future no matter what happens.
IMHO, VT has far better chance of getting an invite from the SEC than Virginia has in getting an invite from the B1G or the SEC.

I expect that their football program would turn around with an invite from the B1G. By turnaround, I don't mean competing for a B1G championship, just a much more competitive program.

VT needs to get better in football, and Sands needs to keep growing VT into a large public research university.
Feel we're trending in the right direction in both areas, but this is no time to sit back on our laurels...lol
