Duke reportedly paying 8M for Tulane QB, last year it was Miami & ND buying
their QB’s through NIL. Of course we know what SMU did buying players. Better keep an eye on the Private Schools with big donors. The Ivies just voted to be able to play in the FCS football playoffs, what could be next for them? I know, sounds crazy, but crazy is in lately!

Maybe they are beginning to see that their basketball program will
eventually suffer if they don't become a P2 school. The financial advantage of the P2 will leak over to basketball.

ND is buying wide receivers this cycle
They think that they have their starting QB (CJ Carr, grandson of Lloyd Carr of Michigan) on campus already. I want them to get a few DT's in the portal as well.

The ACC has many wealthy private schools
SMU already shows how to exploit the system. Duke and Stanford has all the money. They can be very successful.

Duke and Stanford are loaded in "academic" money, it is yet to be seen how
much athletic funds they can raise. Those are two separate buckets.

Maybe he has signed an eight year contract for One mil per year.
These guys that don’t make the NFL should get at least eight years eligibility. Don’t you think?

Hear it’s 4M a year for 2 years, but Jimbo Fisher got 75M for being FIRED!!
You can FIRE me for a whole lot less than that if you want to. I will have my agent contact you. 🤣🤣

Riley turned out to be a bargain.

Sure was, and it looks like Duke is countering that this year.
Sam Hartman worked out well last year too. The expensive private schools have money, but many spent it on basketball, but now the ROI is on football.

You'd think they rather have a 3rd rate cast off DC and OL coach instead of
a QB? What's the round trip cash burn going to be on Pry and Whit's latest screwup?

Who would have thought 20 years ago Duke would be serious about football?

Mind blowing, isn’t it

Duke could easily bury VT in football if they are committed
Because how many fans that come to watch you play on Saturdays has very little to do with a program's health in 2024.

Why do you say easily? Deep pockets? Are you saying fan interest doesn’t
matter? I am just trying to understand.
V

Yes , money trumps fan interest
The QB going to Duke isn't thinking about VT having a stadium full of passionate fans.

Duke was a great team in the 50s and early 60s
Then they said screw it!
