Has television ruined everything?
Before cable, ND dominated television. With the expansion of cable and internet, television(or video) access to sports has vastly expanded, as well as the money.
It will never happen, but I wonder if it would be better if Congress created a law limiting federal recognized tax exempt institutions from allowing commercial entities to televise events or something like that.

Then, reality shows killed the music video channel.
I'm convinced that to a lot of these assclowns behind the curtain making decisions, it's just a big reality game for them. They are massing with long established schools, conferences, traditions and success. And if they are wrong in the end, they'll just move along to the next thing. And leave a destruction of a great, great sport in tts wake.

The G-5 schools say the same about all the Power 5 schools. The B1G and SEC schools are sitting pretty but I wonder what percentage of their fan bases aren't happy with the direction of college athletics, mainly football and men's basketball. Many B1G and SEC fans may feel bad for those P-5 schoool left behind but they'll forget in a short time while the leftovers become even less relevant.
I remember when ECU football as pretty much equal to Tech before Tech moved to the BEFC and later to the ACC. I just hope Tech doesn't suffer the same fate as ECU, Rice, Tulane, SMU, Southern Miss, Marshall ... I still feel that Tech will be okay if the P-2 goes to 48. Not so sure about 40.

Sadly, I think a lot of good programs are going to be left out.
I hate the nature of shutting out competition and merit.
