This doesn't seem to make much sense...

Let's think about this... For current ACC teams, traveling once to San Francisco isn't a big deal and is likely a perk. Thus, it would only help California and Stanford in their "away games". But, that means teams on the east coast would now need to travel 3 to 4 hours to get to Dallas... just to save California 2 to 3 hours of extra flight time. The cumulative travel time for everyone involved, plus expenses and burden, is far greater and costlier. The solution is add a few more schools out west so teams can have more local rivals. Unfortunately, during all this conference shuffling the ACC was either A) asleep at the wheel, or B) didn't want to expand without major concessions . Probably a combination of both.

Makes sense since Dallas is in ACC territory now.

ONLY for non-revenue sports**

1. Make everyone travel instead of just the visiting team(s);

So, how many home games will each ACC school give up for this?
Old Line Hokie 09/03/23 01:53 PM ET
I believe Dallas is being floated as a non-revenue tournament site

Like Jacksonville was for the ACC Football Championship Game?**
EDGEMAN 09/04/23 08:37 AM ET
The PAC played “paired road games” in non-football sports
SunDevilHokie 09/03/23 12:59 PM ET
The ACC does this to some extent in volleyball, lacrosse
RJHokie 09/03/23 01:34 PM ET
Yup. Net travel time difference for schools likely negligible**
BAMRising 09/03/23 11:16 AM ET
For the olympic sports they should just play fewer conference opponents.
tarheelblue 09/03/23 10:44 AM ET
Maybe for Stanford, Cal, and SMU home games, but can't see current ACC

I was thinking for all of the tournaments.

Holding the soccer tourneys at the Star in Frisco would be great

This doesn't seem to make much sense...

East coast teams already travel 3-4 hours for games - if not more.
BAMRising 09/03/23 11:13 AM ET
Huh? East coast teams fly ZERO hours for home games.**
jesuisvtguy 09/03/23 11:15 AM ET
Anyone know what facilities make sense?
Sunsetunderground 09/03/23 10:19 AM ET
Just posted above. There are a lot of great venues in Frisco

How about this one.

Expansion may be weird, but for a Dallas-based Hokie
TxHokie94 09/03/23 09:11 PM ET
I expect to see an ACC Championship Meet to be hosted there.
