Here's another way to look at it
Average revenue over the past 4 years:
SEC + Oklahoma and Texas (Vanderbilt data unavailable): $148.6 mil
B1G + UCLA (Northwestern and USC data unavailable): $125.0 mil
Current ACC (BC, Syracuse, Miami, Duke, Pitt data unavailable): $110.7 mil
P10 (Stanford data unavailable): $102.3 mil
B12 + Cincinnati, UCF, Houston (Baylor, TCU, BYU data unavailable): $82.7 mil
If ACC cherry picks Washington, Oregon, Cal and Stanford, the average increases to over $117.3, plus adding large television markets on the west coast. Travel costs are still a kick in the crotch, but our value is comparable with B1G. Of the private schools, Miami probably increases the average. Duke is probably on par with the average. The other schools probably do drag it down.
If the most valuable schools from ACC/B12/P12 leave their conferences to form a new Alliance of the 14 most valuable public schools, the average would be $115.7. Add Miami and Stanford and the Alliance would look like this:
Oregon
Florida St.
Louisville
Clemson
Washington
Arizona State
UVA
UNC
Kansas
Arizona
VT
Cal
West Virginia
Texas Tech
Miami
Stanford
Moral of the story, this is a viable, competitive national conference with tons of history and tradition. There are iconic programs in both football and basketball. There are 7 ACC schools, who with Notre Dame, can vote to dissolve the ACC. Go to 18 by including Pitt and GT maintains recruiting in fertile states.

These are per team averages, you can't just add them together. **
