a result of geography as the state of VA (and NC) being the only places contiguous to expanding the footprint of both- you already know that. and in most outsiders minds probably UVa has more cache -at least with the B1G (and maybe the SEC) because of its cultural, academic , historic perception (just being honest). what irks me is the assumption that the ACC schools are going to allow their selves to be split down the middle - when they do indeed have the leverage to decide who comes with them. I'm a broken record- but VT needs to be tied to UVa and NCSU needs to be tied to UNC. And then you may have a 4 or 5 school block that level the playing field .
