I see another division (P-4 or P-5)

The ACC and Big 12 will try to protect every member. We already have 69 Power 5 schools. Some schools will have to make a major decision to either remain in the P-5 or drop down to G-5. I honestly can't see any P-5 school (including Wake, Vandy, BC, ...) wanting to move down a division. UCF, Cincinnati, BYU and Houston made the decision that they want to play at the highest level. It'll be interesting to see what other G-5 schools want to make a commitment to play at the highest level. You're seeing FCS schools like JMU, Liberty, Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Sam Houston State, Texas State, Jacksonville State and others make the move to G-5.

Dabo Swinney's idea seems to be the most popular but that would eliminate either the ACC or Big-12 or both. 40-50 would be bad news for Dabo's ACC, but he cares more about Clemson's future than the ACC's. Five of the original ACC schools have been associated with Wake Forest since 1953-1954. Will they continue to protect smaller P-5 schools like Wake, or will everyone be on their own?

I'm hoping that there will be 70-80 Power 5 schools and that all five conferences will survive. I think that that would be better for college football. Division 1 college football does need another division. FCS, G-5, and P-5 makes sense. I'd like to see a few schools move so they can be located in their geographic footprint (ie: WVU).
