I am not getting all the angst about the P2 selecting only 1 school in

NC and VA. Both P2 conferences have proven that if there are two large, primary athletic programs in a state, they take both: Michigan / Michigan State, Illinois / Northwestern, Mississippi / Mississippi St, Alabama / Auburn, Tennessee / Vanderbilt, USC/ UCLA. Why should VA and NC be any different? UVA and VT are the clear leaders of the pack in VA. UNC and NCSU are leaders in NC, but Duke can make an argument. Based upon history both UBA and VT are absolutely going P2 if they choose to establish a presence in VA. ** Edited by VT ChemE 1986 at 6/1/2024, 10:59:05 AM ** Edited by VT ChemE 1986 at 6/1/2024, 11:00:11 AM

Why worry.........

the big NC and VT schools are the demographic gems of the ACC

You sound like Rutgers angling for the B1G

If the SEC doesn't want Clemson because they have the 2nd brand in SC

The logic is that UNC is so valuable, that the SEC is willing to take 3

The SEC and the B1G......

The reason USC and UCLA both got invites is different from UVa and VT.

I would be absolutely shocked if both P2 passed on a Virginia school
Sunsetunderground 06/01/24 11:50 AM ET
Let's say that UNC goes to the SEC and UVa goes with them.
Maroon Baboon 06/01/24 12:04 PM ET
I totally agree with this
Sunsetunderground 06/01/24 02:04 PM ET
Assuming UNC/Uva to SEC would VT take a smaller Big10 payout

Probably. The payout needs to be big enough to be competitive. But if its

Apparently Oklahoma BEGGED the SEC to take Oklahoma State.

I would not consider Oklahoma to be as strategic as NC & VA**

Where OK has the potential to become as strategic as NC or VA is if ratings

We all know there are many levels of begging. Oklahoma may have "begged"
VTHokie2000 06/01/24 12:24 PM ET
Well obviously OU isn't turning down the invitation if UT is going.
Maroon Baboon 06/01/24 12:29 PM ET
I don't disagree that OU isn't going to turn down an invitation at that
