Wow, it implies Swofford didn't collaborate

What is not said between the sentences is alot

I think there is alot of history between Swofford and Delany back to UNC days. Swofford from Tarboro NC and Delany NJ

1. Delany and Swofford were in the same fraternity and both ran for president. Delany ran a robust campaign, Swofford work the crowd, shaking hands and basically backroom. At the end Swofford won by the backroom and Delany was miffed.

2. Big 10 was miffed at ACC getting the Cuse and Pitt (which Big 10 assumed was their territory). It was done, quietly. Then they were miffed at Swofford leading a clendestine operation to convince PSU to leave. Their answer go after ACC members and they pried away maryland with Rutgers to help claim the DC and NY market. (touche).

3. I think it was time for Swofford to leave,. college athletics moved on. Same at a lower level Delany. ACC getting a Big 10 guy from Northwestern was a HUGE coup and helped right the ship. (he frankly should have been the next Big 10 commissioner). Still bottomline, there is a new rebuilding of close link with the Big 10 and frankly the PAC 12. (Swofford wanted to maintain is relationships with ESPN (led for many years by ACC UNC guys, and the SEC). He was played... When the ACC guys left ESPN and it is now part of Disney inc, it changed to just $$$. Further, ir the guy in the SEC (stenchi ) is a sports attorney first, not an athletic director. His number one is aggressive revenue generation PERIOD.

History is history, and so glad that we are seeing some progress here. Lets hope we can see more collaboration between the PAC 12 BIG 10 and ACC to counter the SEC/ND .

Why would Liberty give up games with P5 teams?

Yeah, this is where I am at, get rid of the divisions, Delaney said

Exactly

That's true. They're just working toward enough open dates for conference.
