I guess it’s SMU that I really don’t get
The Power-5 already has the Dallas market with TCU - and I’m guessing even they attract less eyes in that market than UT-Austin or A&M. Also, it’s that line of idiotic thinking from the ACC brass that thought that a mid-size private school would bring in the pro-crazy Boston sports market. And besides, SMU will always seem like damaged goods to me. Can’t ever forget that they are the only team to get the NCAA “death penalty”.
