Is the Stanford-Cal consideration nothing more than peer institutions
doing their fellow peer institutions a favor when they are down on their luck? True collegial conduct. I could really see the old-order ACC schools looking at Stanford (arguably the top university in all the land) and Cal-Berkerley (arguably the top public university in all the land) wanting to do this, even if it is of only minor financial benefit to the ACC.
I'm still formulating my opinions on this matter. I'm not sure what to think of it or what the ACC should do. Seems like a charitable consideration more than anything else. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But it completely goes against the "chasing that bag" mentality that Coach Prime described so eloquently.

Maybe the ACC could somehow snag the Pac12's Rose Bowl tie-in out of this.
