Do we know why the playoff expansion was back on so quickly?
I haven’t read anything so this is just a guess on my part.
I think the ACC, B12 and PAC folded under the pressure and opened the door to bring the vote back and lock in the 12 team model for now. And G5 was fine with guaranteed access and chance for at large teams.
ESPN is happy because they can get more money if it happens quickly. Sec and Big are happy because they will get money from lots of teams in playoff. And the ACC, B12, and PAC are ok since this should help pause any more expansion for now.
Is there anything I have wrong or that I’m missing?
