Given that some schools can generate $4-5M for a home game, it may matter

to the coaches if they know some/most/all of that money is going back into the program's war chest. Likewise, the players may care if they are receiving a cut of the gameday revenue. For teams receiving a 1st Round bye, they may still get to play the 2nd Round at their stadium. If that is the case, then they should be able to charge more money for the "privilege" to attend the 2nd Round in person. My point is the P2 schools will always try to find ways to maximize their revenue even if Disney or Fox tries to stiff them on the payout of the CCGs. Plus, Disney and Fox may not be completely set on getting rid of the CCGs. Since both networks have a business relationship with various gambling apps, the games offer both networks 1 more game to generate more gambling activity. In terms of revenue for the networks, we may not be that far away from the day gambling becomes a network's bread and butter and ad revenue from a game is icing on the cake. A reason fans don't talk much about the gambling aspect is because there is very little to no data on the subject. If the networks are keeping the data locked up in a vault tighter than Fort Knox, then it could suggest they are sitting on a gold mine and they don't want the public to know the size of the gold mine. ** Edited by VTHokie2000 at 5/27/2026, 5:30:29 PM
