Of course they do - expanded CFP access means easier path to job security.

Sankey, as usual, is so full of **** it's coming out his ears. The only reason he acts like he doesn't want massive expansion is because he knows they can't realistically make 3/4 of the field 6-6 and 7-5 SEC programs. The only party that doesn't want massive CFP expansion is Disney, and that's only because they'll lose their unchecked control over the postseason (and, by extension, the college football narrative) because they can't afford to pay for all the extra content. People completely lose sight of the objective fact that the CFP is, lock, stock, and barrel, a Disney product, designed, staged, seeded, and controlled entirely by the Walt Disney Corporation. That's why we see the decisions we see about who gets in and who plays who. The only thing they don't control about the CFP is the outcome of the games. Once other investors come in at the ground level, that changes, and all of a sudden the landscape starts looking a whole lot different. ** Edited by Baltimore_Hokie at 5/27/2026, 10:12:16 AM
