Let me break it down for you exactly why:

ESPN pays the ACC x amount of money to own the media rights to every single ACC home football contest. In assessing how much to pay the ACC, ESPN is not doing it how we do it, which is thinking of it in terms of "every ACC team will be paid x amount of money." ESPN is calculating what the entire package is worth, and FSU and Clemson home games are worth a hell of a lot more than Wake Forest and SMU home games. ESPN doesn't care how the ACC divvies up the money, they just give them a number. So, the fact that content that is worth basically nothing is being bought and paid for in the same bucket as content that is worth a lot means, in terms of what each single member actually gets, that the content that is worth a lot is inherently devalued by the content that is worth basically nothing. If you're selling a bucket full of content that is actually worth something, with very little if any worthless content, you have more leverage to negotiate your fee schedule, and you don't have to share the money with the parties who are devaluing your payout. And, even if your bucket is slightly smaller than the next bucket, the bucket you're selling just has milk in it, as opposed to milk with several turds floating around in it, so you're going to be able to get more money for your bucket of milk. Hope that helps.

???? For Baltimore Hokie?

For starters, the ACC could have not added Stanford, Cal, and SMU.

I would argue that it was forward thinking on the part of WF and BC
