Forgetting the past and just looking forward for ACC

I think the conference is best served from a radical change (which means it will never happen). ACC will always have basketball as part of its core identity. It has a long term established brand that should be embraced…for everything except football. Because the ACC just does not execute football well as a conference. I would do a half merge and half swap with the B12. ACC takes all schools for everything except football. Let schedules be regional but allow for some interesting road trips to various other regions. And consolidate contracts for all these sports as ACC and keep the ACCN. Football “breaks off” to form a new conference along with the football teams from the B12 (each school can opt in or choose a different path). A combined entity for football can generate a solid new media contract, enable more interesting regular season matchups, and offer some stability. And I would layer in a rolling two year success initiative so that teams can get more immediate benefits from good seasons.
