NIL can be controlled, but no

one wants to step up and control it. The NFL players make NIL money. The stars, especially the quarterbacks and some top tier offensive players get endorsments all the time. They do not however, use NIL to get around salary caps. For instance, can you name an offensive lineman for VT because of his name, image, and likeness without a VT uniform on? I follow KU, and couldn't pick one single player out of a line up. Can you with your team? KU's Peterson, projected to be the top draft choice in the NBA, receives much more than $1M in NIL, yet, even living here, I have never seen him in a commercial, or his name tagged to a product. There are exceptions to every rule, and there are individuals that have NIL value, no doubt - but take the uniform off of them, they would still have value. Take the uniform off of any lineman, or freshman that hasn't played a game, or just about any defensive player, or all of KU and VT basketball squads, and their name, image, and likeness isn't worth a penny.
