Makes for a nice football league, but does not make for a nice

collegiate athletic league. Swanky recently was quoted (paraphrase) that the other sports in college athletics need to be tied to football - that separating football is not in the interest of the SEC. He also quoted that the idea of separating and going to regional divisions because of travel concerns for the other sports, is also a non starter. He reasons that the SEC is regional, and do not have the travel issues that the BIG, B12, and now, the ACC have. The SEC is set - and they have no reason to separate into a football only league. They have the money, the power, the brands, and the geography. Except for adding value with a few other teams, there is, and will be, no reason for the SEC to separate into a different league. I'm also not convinced that is what FOX or ESPN want. It negates almost all of the other content they provide. I just do not see that happening.
