pretty trite, and lame. I'm not insecure about this conference stuff, but if you feel the need to stick out your chest on the ACC's superiority, then knock yourself out. UCLA was a travel partner for USC, everyone knows that. Getting markets for the conference networks is no longer a viable business model - from any perspective. If it was, the ACC's recent additions would be making your conference rich. The Big 10 and the SEC got their contracts without UNC, or any other school in the ACC. Except for ND, there just isn't a school left that brings more money or value to the existing P2. This is also not an ESPN vs FOX thing anymore either - so there will not be any "defensive" moves by any conference or network. The ACC found a golden opportunity to establish their conference for years to come if they can make this uneven distribution thing work. If the ACC can work out the kinks, and the top programs make enough to compete with the P2, there will be no reason for any of them to leave. The weakness in that model will be the mid level football programs that will tire of getting less money than they currently do. The extension of the ACC contract put to bed any realignment move for the time being. It is now the uneven distribution model that the ACC should be focused on. UNC football has sucked wind since the beginning of time. If they leave, then that so called Big East merger will have been another opportunity your conference has missed, because it would mean, the future is now basketball.
