They could vote to administer football apart from the other sports

I haven't thought this through but the conference could reorganize itself or change its revenue distribution methods in any number of ways.

the assumption is the ACC is screwed because of contract duration (which was purportedly necessary to get the ACCN); but the provisions are what really matters and I don't think a single media outlet has reported what is actually in it. I'm not optimistic given the track record of the former commissioner, but I'd be shocked if there are no look-ins on a contract of that duration. If the approvers assumed a flat market over a decade+, they should all be fired; or fired at.

in the end, if the ACC isn't getting current market value for its games ($/eyeballs), or something very close to it, I think it could probably break the football TV contract with ESPN on bad faith if nothing else.
