I'm not sure how to make that anymore clear. If you think the ACC needed a new member to come in and win all their games, you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what the primary problem facing the conference was/is. The ACC didn't need a program to come in and win all their games. It needed a brand name that drew eyeballs. SMU is literally the exact opposite of what the ACC needed to address its biggest problem. All SMU coming in and winning a bunch of conference games is doing is making it a whole lot easier to make jokes about how the ACC sucks. There was zero reason to expand when the ACC did. Less than zero. It was just another in a long line of mind numbingly stupid mistakes by the conference. Imagine if the problem at your party was that the punch wasn't getting anyone drunk, and nobody was having any fun, and instead of spiking the punch, you took a big, fragrant piss in it.
