In no way am I saying that if there is one more P2 spot and it is between VT and UVA that UVA would get that spot. And that is what your response is trying to reduce the issue to. IMHO the issue is much bigger than that. The primary thing goes back to the simple idea that only ND brings enough return add to the P2 for football. They don't need FSU, Miami or Clemson for football. and, that being correct, then they certainly don't need UVA or VT. So again, IMHO anyone added has to have football + something and your position ignores the + something. Yes that COULD even go so far as to say the SEC academic side wants AAU schools and since it really does not matter athletically, why not? Again, the SEC does not need more prime time matchups. And even in football, the SEC evaluations may not be with current or recent history of wins, fan attendance and TV viewership. It could be what school the SEC biggies think can benefit them the best. Ask yourself, from a Bama, LSU, Tenn, UGA position, does an easy win in Lane North win more fans to the SEC biggies than a tough game in the real Lane? I am pretty sure the current heavywieghts in the SEC have no interest in growing the FSU, Clemson or Miami fan bases or programs. Your response also seems to assume there is some fair and honest standard with that standard being a combo of wins, fan attendance, Tv viewership and maybe even message board traffic that will determine who gets in and who doesn't no matter the name of the school. I do not believe that will be the case. and yes. it COULD be that even for the SEC, AAU membership may trump football in any one instance.
