My position on UVA to the P2 has always been this:

I'm not saying they won't eventually go P2, but I can say with 100% certainty they're not going while VT gets left behind. The nightmare scenario for everyone on this board, and what you see posted most often, whether it's presented as opinion or fact, is some variation of, "UVA is a way more valuable brand to the SEC and the Big 10 than VT, and they're going to get an invite to one or the other, while VT likely won't." This is an absolutely laughable statement to anyone with a brain, because it flies directly in the face of any and all available evidence and history regarding both UVA as an institution and its culture, and the factors that are driving the current wave of conference realignment. I always say that if you see someone seriously proffering the notion that UVA will go P2 to the exclusion of VT, you can just assume they have zero idea what they're talking about when it comes to conference realignment and ignore whatever they have to say on the topic. It doesn't surprise me that someone like Greg Flugaur, who was astute enough once to predict something correctly about conference realignment, but is now obviously just making things up so people will watch his monetized 2.5 hour long YouTube videos that contain around 3 minutes of actual content, would opine that UVA is going to the SEC. He's from Minnesota. He knows absolutely nothing about UVA, or Virginia Tech, or the athletics programs at either, or the size, makeup, and institutional culture of either institution. He's like the ESPN and NYT/The Athletic pencil necks who just look at UVA and say, "oh, they don't have a "state" or a "tech" after "Virginia" in their institutional title, that means they're the big flagship school in Virginia, just like Florida, or Tennessee, or Alabama, or Georgia, and that means they're going P2." Which couldn't be farther from reality. It insults the intelligence for anyone with any knowledge and insight.
