So, Private equity has a reputation, that is for sure - but

it's not the case. Private capital will go to the marketplace and but firms that are undervalued, have been mismanaged, and have potential for substantial growth. People associate them with vultures that buy, cut up, take their profit, and move on. This is partially true, because there are many instances where this has happened, not only in the past, but as a business model for some. Read a little on Red Lobster to get a pretty good idea of what CAN happen. Then you have the NHL, NBA, and many others who brought in Private Equity (Capital) to manage and grow their brand, NIL, and copyrights in regards to international sponsorships, apparel, and other non core business's. This allows management of those teams to focus on what they are good at - which is basketball and hockey. It has been enormously successful as the revenue from the non core business's have grown since those portions of their business were taken over, and managed better than the owners could. Hope this helps try to explain my position.
