Virginia Tech’s leadership in particular Sands and Babcock are incredibly slow to react. Both UVA and Duke have blown by us with the current environment and there is absolutely no good excuse but weak leadership in the Athletic Department. That’s not a maybe or in the future, it’s going on now and it’s been going on for many years. We desperately need new leadership in the Athletic Department, and maybe at the President level too, if they keep trying to turn the clock back on things the courts have already decided. Those two are still talking about what used to be, and are literally putting their heads in the Sands over it. As far as the Pro Model, I don’t think the B1G wants to go there with their 24 playoff proposal and recent willingness to acquiesce on auto bids, and they have more power and money than the SEC and recent Notre Dame alliance. Consequently at least right now, I don’t think they have the power to get there for a while, and maybe never.
