the kind of media contract that might give them the ability to "poach" or attract other schools. The key however, is the money. Could the Mag7+ other B12 schools get an additional $20M to compete with the P2? It's possible, but with the conference contracts, fees, GOR's and such, PE money would have to be in play. Otherwise, it's just wishful thinking. I was suggesting that if the football and basketball (w/non revs) were separate media contracts, it would simplify things for this conference realignment debacle we are currently in, and could go a long way in satisfying the football and basketball centric schools alike. If VT was offered a football only invite to the SEC as an example - problem solved. A basketball centric ACC or Big east would be a great place for your basketball and Olympics. This holds true for the B12 schools as well (pick an example). I just think we are all missing an outcome that hasn't been discussed much, and that is football separating from the athletic departments as a whole at the power level. It opens up a whole different can of worms for the blue bloods, on down to the less media values schools in football. It would also allow for the evening out of competition as basketball revenue can support an athletic department as we have traditionally viewed them.
