I agree 100%-
The UVA rivalry is what it is, but the precedent has been squarely set now that VT should EXPECT to steamroll UVA every season. It's the standard if you want to step foot on the field in a VT game uniform. At this juncture, losing to UVA should be akin to hitting a panic button for the VT football program that something's extremely broken.
I really do think the VT-Miami rivalry, historically, has been the most important rivalry for VT in terms of where VT sits now as a program and a brand. VT wouldn't have accomplished what it's accomplished if the program had not been compelled to chase, catch up with, and at times excel the standard set by Miami in the 90s and early 2000s. I also think the WVU rivalry was very important, could be very important again, and the white hot animus between the two programs should not have shut that whole show down.
