still need to be rules in place and some entity (i.e. association) in place to monitor those rules. I'm trying to picture how the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, or MLS would function if there were no rules in place. In theory the NCAA could still exist even if all athletes were ruled employees. All that would need to happen is to modify the bylaws to be compliant with any court ruling or changes in the laws. Now the schools could debate on whether each sport should have its own association like what we currently see with the pro leagues now or whether it could remain consolidated like how the NCAA is currently structured. There are pros and cons with both options and I don't know which would be the better option for the schools.
