ACC, PAC 12 or Big 12 is getting to SEC/BIG money. The difference in size of schools, fan bases, media markets, etc. is too substantial. The only realistic goal is to keep the gap close enough to maintain a semblance of competitiveness. TCU had a magical season last year with a lot of fortunate occurrences, in some ways reminiscent of VT's 99/00 season. The question for the Horned Frogs is whether that was a one time deal or whether they can string together multiple double digit win seasons. I am not as optimistic as you that the Big 12 or the ACC or new PAC? or even the BIG outside of Ohio State and maybe Longshot UM and PSU can win a football national championship. Having to win 3 or more playoff games reduces the likely pool of winners to somewhere in the range of 6-10 teams.
