compete as a DI-FCS or DI-FBS because of another bylaw, I would think the start-up cost to sponsor DI football would be too rich for a lot of "mid-major schools." Now if GMU already had existing facilities (i.e. a "large" soccer stadium, lacrosse stadium, multi-purpose stadium in terms of size and not necessarily capacity), then that would reduce some of the start-up cost. Speaking of capacity, I think all DI (FBS and FCS) football stadiums currently have a capacity of at least 5,000. If GMU currently did have an existing facility that could work, then GMU would need to make sure the existing facility address any capacity concerns.
