The SEC is the benchmark for competing for a National Championship, not the Big10 media deal, or the teams that went to the SEC or Big10. I'm telling anyone that will listen, start winning and filling up your stadiums, make the playoffs, and you will be fine. BC isn't holding VT back, nor are they holding FSU back. Take a look at what UCF did with their media budget - undefeated seasons, a new stadium, and premier bowl games. They sure as hell didn't have a $60M media contract to accomplish those things. What set them apart? What set Cincinnati apart? Clemson, TCU, Boise State, Oregon, ... the list is endless depending on how far back you want to go.
