Too much duplication for the SEC.

They only want four of us, mostly to block the B10 IMO, so I think they will wait out the next 8-9 years as is. But they can get them then, IMO. If the B10 wants the best of the ACC, they have to take eight now. I'd take VT, UVa, NC State, UNC, Clemson, GT, FSU and Miami. Those eight are 90% of the ACC TV contract, and they bring five big football states into the B10 Network. The SEC can't do much with what is left. Duke might be the next most attractive, and UNC might insist upon them, but that would logically leave NC State out. The SEC would pick them up, so that is risky to the B1G. It would suck to have them turn into a winner SEC team at that point. I think UNC would allow NC State over Duke. Or the B1G might be able to convince ND to be the eighth team, but I think ND will not vote to break up the ACC. They would literally be the one to put the knife in at that point. That would likely leave us out, but I think the SEC would pick us up at that point, maybe with WVU or OK State. That is also risky to the B1G. What if we turn into an SEC winner? UVa would fight that I feel. I don't think the B10 would take Louisville over VT because of academics. Plus it leaves VT for the SEC. Too risky. Pitt would not be picked over us, because Penn State probably doesn't want them. And the point of this is to thwart the SEC. Leaving VT behind just gives us to the SEC. A big risk. They would be smarter to take all eight ASAP, forcing ND in as the next team, I guess with Stanford, or Washington, if they are collecting states still at that point.

IMO, a college football game does not affect HS attendance.
