I suspect all the UVA talk is a distraction. My guess is the BIG wants GT

GT fits the academic model. They are in a major metro city. They are big. And they proved last year that they can compete with SEC level teams and be a solid football program. But they are also very clearly smack in the middle of SEC country, where the SEC has its champ game. So it's a major threat that gets quietly avoided. FSU is an obvious pick for the BIG or SEC. Clemson would fit better in SEC despite all the public statements about the SEC not being interested. UVA and VT, who knows.
