They could have increased scholarships, but left football alone. The

G5's will be in a load of hurt. Playing time vs. getting paid to be on the bench. How many kids will go for the money? This gets worse for the sport every day. If the G5 break away and have their own national championship, I'll watch that, and go to their games. Watching "pro's" may be the last straw for me. Also, why didn't they raise the scholarships for basketball? Could it be the NCAA wants to protect their monopoly?

Basketball apparently will go up by 2 scholarships. Max of 15 now
