Happened like you said.........

the difference was the numbers didn't work for either side. The LHN despite bleeding cash had a long time to run and Texas was not willing to walk away cheap. ESPN was not essentially willing to bite that bullet along with meeting PAC 12 demands. The next time around Texas gets SEC money, ESPN dumps the LHN network albatross around their neck and UT/OU walk a year early with ESPN sweetening the pot for the Big 12. PAC 12 could have made the deal that time or closer to contract expiration just without UT and OU for a little less money but, by that time FOX and the B1G was already bending USC's ear.
