We all know there are many levels of begging. Oklahoma may have "begged"

just hard enough to appease any state politics that may have existed at the time. However, Oklahoma didn't beg at the level that it would have declined an invitation if the SEC wasn't willing to add Oklahoma State too. It is possible Oklahoma did beg at the level where horse trading is done. Oklahoma agreed to join the SEC without Oklahoma State on the condition that Oklahoma State is the first school (or one of the first schools) added in the next round of expansion. Personally, I don't think Oklahoma begged at that level, but I am open to at least consider it a possibility.
