Will not argue with that being the overriding sentiment

I do remember hearing exactly what you stated about owing Virginia. You may have been the one that told me that. I do remember some discussions with specific monikers still here but not much. Just been on too many boards. I do remember some here telling me. Virginia Tech was a football school as was FSU and that Virginia Tech would be in the ACC until FSU left. That may have been the opinion of just several people here just like you or I have our own opinions. My mistake to make appear I thought it was the overriding sentiment on this board.

When you say “West Virginia claims”, who exactly was making this claim?**

There was a vocal group of ACC apologists on this board.

I totally agree with you
WarHog38 07/28/22 05:26 PM ET
It didn't have anything to do with FSU. But UVa.

It's all good. There was and still is a kinship with football first schools

Yes. Totally forgot about the UL angle to this. I'm not sure how close

I remember that like it was yesterday.

VT to SEC at that point was a nonstarter due to in-state UVa connections
Maroon Baboon 07/27/22 10:00 PM ET
I seem to remember the ACC was ready to fall apart at that time and that
ChrisLords 07/28/22 12:37 PM ET
I agree. The only reason VT would have been taken by the SEC is because
