Stanford has the best athletic department in the NCAA

Just look at all the Directors Cups they win. Their campus is amazing as are their Olympic sports facilities. The Avery Aquatics Center is the best in the world. There is display outside it with all the swimming and water polo Olympians over the years that is astounding. And they don't really care that much about football. They may just be above all this. They have ridiculously wealthy alumni who give, they have an incredible academic reputation, they have world class facilities, their campus is amazing (you can smell eucalyptus year round), the weather is amazing.........they will still get amazing recruiting classes in the other sports, send athletes to the Olympics, and survive above the fray.

Awful Announcing: ESPN seems to be PAC12 Favorites
HOO86 07/14/22 10:42 PM ET
I grew up on the west coast, and have always liked
SkyHokie 07/16/22 05:51 PM ET
This would solidify a third major conference. Not as big as the SEC/B1G,
JKHokie-RunFor32 07/16/22 09:16 AM ET
This would awesome for me
MrBayAreaHokie 07/15/22 07:39 PM ET
I liked being able to drive down to San Jose to see us in the NCAA
HwoodHokie 07/15/22 09:06 PM ET
my wife got on tv a lot with her hokie sign at San Jose 😂**
MrBayAreaHokie 07/15/22 10:16 PM ET
GThey switched their basbeballl from Marus Johnson /Steve Physioc to Bill W
LocalExperts 07/15/22 12:48 PM ET
The TV Alliance, I get, but the scheduling, we don't play each other enough
Stech 07/15/22 12:07 PM ET
We wouldn't be spreading it out.
Atlee Hokie 07/15/22 11:40 PM ET
well we have four games OOC. 2-3 games btw east and west would
VTNSC 07/15/22 03:59 PM ET
Another case of the ACC being reactionary. I saw an article a few days
133193Hokie 07/15/22 10:53 AM ET
What do you mean, "rather have stuff not as far away?"
hokieZ71 07/15/22 09:31 AM ET
I was thinking 1 time zone rather than 3.
HOO86 07/15/22 09:55 AM ET
Where have we heard this before?
33laszlo99 07/15/22 12:04 AM ET
It reminds me of the Big 8 and SWC merger
Truthahn 07/15/22 12:10 PM ET
The 10 minus WSU and OSU would be solid adds.
4x4hokies 07/14/22 11:31 PM ET
I really like that idea of a NATIONAL conference
HwoodHokie 07/15/22 11:09 PM ET
Listen to ESPN, then just take the top four teams from the PAC.
Truthahn 07/15/22 11:42 AM ET
I am really curious what ND's role in this will
goldendomer 07/14/22 11:08 PM ET
If ACC added Pac10 teams, would ND want to play 8 ACC games, be eligible
hokiesrule98 07/15/22 09:56 AM ET
ND joined the ACC in 2020 in football, so their independent streak is 1 yr,
Stech 07/15/22 07:57 PM ET
No, that isn't independent at that point. **
goldendomer 07/15/22 11:21 AM ET
Ironically, ND independence is helping save us now, IMO.
Truthahn 07/15/22 11:52 AM ET
True, weird turn of events.**
goldendomer 07/15/22 12:08 PM ET
Independent TV contract. Point is, you play Stanford every year, so now
hokiesrule98 07/15/22 11:43 AM ET
The ND football obligation should not exceed the contracted 5 games/year
TerryD 07/15/22 12:34 PM ET
You weren't interested in ND doing 5 ACC, so speak for yourself, correct?
Stech 07/15/22 07:45 PM ET
I am not Jack Swarbrick
TerryD 07/16/22 08:09 AM ET
Fans would be incredibly upset with that deal. Oh goodness the anger that
goldendomer 07/15/22 12:09 PM ET
I'd be for ACCCG access for ND with just 6 games
Truthahn 07/15/22 12:08 PM ET
No thanks**
TerryD 07/15/22 12:35 PM ET
Keeps ND independent..
hokieZ71 07/15/22 09:37 AM ET
Interesting post. The P2 would still have IU, UK, MSU, and UCLA blue bloods
Maroon Baboon 07/15/22 10:32 AM ET
You and Terry downplayed it yesterday...second thoughts?
daveinop 07/15/22 08:23 AM ET
I am still downplaying it. But I try to be open minded to things that may
goldendomer 07/15/22 10:38 AM ET
If the ACC/PAC avoid ruination
daveinop 07/15/22 11:50 AM ET
Exactly. Same here.**
TerryD 07/15/22 10:46 AM ET
ND doesn't want to be the big fish
TerryD 07/15/22 10:35 AM ET
I think they can and likely will as long as
daveinop 07/15/22 11:53 AM ET
Why would their role change from what it is now?
Atlee Hokie 07/15/22 07:42 AM ET
Keep their INDY and raise from NBC, bout it**
MrFantastic! 07/15/22 06:48 AM ET
Stanford play a role in this?**
VaTechHokiesACC 07/15/22 02:35 AM ET
Stanford has the best athletic department in the NCAA
Happy Dog 07/15/22 05:41 AM ET
Agreed. Very impressive (and I’m an alum of 1 of the former Pac12 schools
HwoodHokie 07/15/22 10:56 PM ET
I wondered why the B1G didn't take Stanford over UCLA.
HokieJay 07/15/22 01:06 PM ET
Stanford doesn't need the B10
Happy Dog 07/16/22 06:35 AM ET
Yep, they put LA on lockdown. **
VaTechHokiesACC 07/15/22 09:34 PM ET
So a media alliance with “maybe” some scheduling of games
HokieAl 07/14/22 10:59 PM ET
Interesting info.
