is that ND changed the way they schedule schools. Everyone here looks at it from the ACC perspective, but from here, it appears that ND is shoring up their home games no matter what happens to your conference. NBC is paying a lot of money, and those MAC schools may not be cutting it for NBC. Add in the rotation of the lower ACC schools, and NBC is probably saying, WTH. If ND inks another long term scheduling agreement with a Miami, LSU, USC, or some other "brand", then they are shoring up their schedule long term no matter what the SEC, BIG, or ACC does in the future. They may even take a look at a BYU (not that that would help the B12 in any way shape or form). FOX and ESPN would most definitely welcome any such arrangement with any school they have the rights too.
