Not a bad idea, my combined conference would be the schools that care about

the major sports, aren't out of way (no BC or Syracuse), and show up to the games - so Stanford and Cal are out. AZ, AZ St, Utah, Colorado, BYU, Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston, TCU, K St, Kansas, Iowa St, Louisville, Cinci, Pitt, WVU, Ok St, Miami, UCF, NC St, NC, Virginia, VT Tech, FSU, Clemson, GT, Duke, Notre Dame for a 28 game league. 4 regional quads of 7 teams. I still see Notre Dame not joining due to independence so Syracuse takes ND's spot.
