has a bigger national profile. Clemson? Not so sure. They have had a remarkable decade - they had a once in a generation coaching hire who was a master motivator and recruiter, energized the fan and alumni base and brought that program to remarkable heights. Remember Clemson before and after Danny Ford (up until Dabo)? Most people don't. Were they a national power who brought huge ratings with a huge alumni base and big fan base? I can't say for sure but I would suspect not. Point being - Clemson could and most likely will have a lull. They are potentially one bad coaching hire away from mediocrity. They are not Bama, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, et. al. Will they be the huge draw then? Even Nebraska and FSU - programs that were at the top of college footbal for over a decade - fell to earth for several years and ratings for their games (especially Nebraksa) fell. Will the SEC powers want 2 teams from a small poulation state receiving the same payout as Bama? They already have Mississippi/MSU.
