To me, the one thing that VT brings to the SEC or B1G is being in a bordering high income/high education state where neither conference has an outpost. Cable subscriptions may be declining, but creating more cash flow for either conference from their networks is something VT can provide that FSU and Clemson can't. VT/UVa/UNC/NCSU divide up very cleanly, should the SEC and B1G decide to do so.
