Such a simple concept, seems like it would give great results, but college

sports seems to avoid that which makes good sense. My suggestion would be good for the seven ACC members, good for the three added schools, good for perhaps ESPN who could be the home for the new conference and gain PSU as a new valuable property. Of course the big obstacle for anything is the 7 being able to break away. A couple of decent sized obstacles after that - ESPN, and 3 new schools. The results would be a confernece that controls the entire east coast, would be a great size, round robin play, geographically connected. Some things just make too much sense to happen, and establishing ideal conferences has been abandoned with the latest rounds of conference expansion. We are moving away from what was once considered a conference to forming leagues.
