I think the B10's only move is to try for the 8 ACC teams en masse

Getting more teams from the west will cost them too much money, or else they have to pay them a LOT less to have it make sense for the rest of the B10. But their real problem is the potential for the SEC to pick off the top four or six ACC programs. That will leave the B10 in the dust. Maybe it happens 10 years from now, but it will be looming as a threat to the B10 until then. So, why not skip Oregon, Wash, and Stanford and pick up 8 ACC teams now (assuming this dissolves the ACC)? When you are already at 16 teams, and you are telling people you want to go to 20, why not just go to 24 to get it done? It crushes the last hold out attractive conference, the ACC, and it gives the B10 the entire east coast, leaving the SEC with few options from the ACC or otherwise. It would also force ND into the B10. I would think the top eight ACC teams would be worth more to the B10 on average than any more from the west coast. ** Edited by Truthahn at 8/5/2022, 12:58:55 PM
