One time zone vs. two, more media exposure. Texas and Oklahoma went east. So did Nebraska and Mizzou. Heck, UCLA and USC are headed east. I know Kansas and Oklahoma State fans, and they would rather merge with the ACC than the Pac-12. IMHO, I think that the ACC and Big 12 will protect all their current members. That may not be wise, but I can't see the ACC kicking out schools like Boston College and Wake or the Big 12 turning their back on newcomers BYU, UCF, Cincy and Houston. I think the ACC-Big 12-Pac 12 need to form a meaningful alliance where they can play each other to boost television/streaming revenue and S.O.S.'s, but will be able to maintain their conference identities. An example would be the ACC teams playing one Big 12 and one Pac-12 team every football season and playing 9 ACC games.
