Well who do we have then?

CAL Stanford Colorado Utah Arizona Arizona State Kansas Oklahoma State SMU WVU PITT VT UVA UNC NCSU GT Clemson FSU I don’t care - pick your favorite 18 or 20. Next, find a true corporate sponsor. Does anybody care if it’s called the Netflix conference? Not me. You can play around with swapping Duke, BYU, K-State, a Texas school, or another PAC school - whoever - but why not take membership up to 20? Make the conference too big to ignore. Some private capital entrepreneur will make it work. Some streamer will pay. The ACC, B12 and PAC must fail eventually. It will happen. Tear the bandaid off quickly, paper over the broken agreements and hurt feelings, and start surviving now. Toss in Notre Dame as a partial member, and you’ve got a real conference. ** Edited by lawhokie at 1/5/2025, 11:26:44 AM

Time is now for the University presidents to direct the Big12 and ACC to
VT ChemE 1986 01/04/25 01:13 PM ET
Why would the Big 12 do this, ever?
Baltimore_Hokie 01/07/25 11:51 AM ET
I'd be fine with our own own post-season tournament at this point.
Truthahn 01/06/25 03:39 PM ET
Yes. Time for the nonP2 to go our own way**
VT ChemE 1986 01/06/25 04:20 PM ET
This. And our own basketball tournament, and our own
Big12 guy 01/06/25 04:00 PM ET
No way
RandomAsianGuy 01/05/25 09:02 PM ET
I agree with this, and it is probably the main reason the B12 exists today.**
Big12 guy 01/06/25 05:45 PM ET
Yup
RandomAsianGuy 01/06/25 06:17 PM ET
Well who do we have then?
lawhokie 01/05/25 11:23 AM ET
Not a bad group. I would add Duke, Miami, BYU, and another Texas school.
tarheelblue 01/05/25 08:12 PM ET
Right, I forgot Miami. 22 might be too big too fail haha. **
lawhokie 01/06/25 06:32 PM ET
Something like that may be in the works.

PE, in my opinion, would have to be at a conference or league level to
Big12 guy 01/05/25 08:26 AM ET
You make good points, guy, but I'll dispute a couple of them.
33laszlo99 01/05/25 10:38 AM ET
ND has already rejected the idea of PE for them**
TerryD 01/05/25 05:15 PM ET
I'm not sure that a vote has to be unanimous in a conference, but
Big12 guy 01/05/25 11:17 AM ET
ND's AD recently ruled out PE
TerryD 01/05/25 10:11 AM ET
I don't see ND ever going to PE. The conference that they
Big12 guy 01/05/25 11:08 AM ET
I don't see anyone doing it.
Pylons 01/05/25 03:41 PM ET
PE are vultures. Whenever PE gets involved, bankruptcy often follows.
tarheelblue 01/05/25 08:23 PM ET
ND wants no one else overseeing ND, except ND. period
1947Sunbowl 01/05/25 01:36 PM ET
... and if the need arises, they can get whatever they want, I'm sure.**

Who actually holds the power on this topic?
HokieAl 01/05/25 12:10 AM ET
Pushing peas around on the plate at this point.
Maroon Baboon 01/04/25 09:44 PM ET
Because watering down the two conferences does what?
Vienna_Hokie 01/04/25 08:47 PM ET
In the meantime, ......... reality is what it is. **
Big12 guy 01/04/25 10:22 PM ET
No; dissolve and merge the best pieces
Tailgate Guru 01/04/25 06:14 PM ET
I don't think so. Right now, the conference champions get an auto
Big12 guy 01/04/25 03:06 PM ET
Not sure that really accomplishes anything.**
Pylons 01/04/25 02:22 PM ET
Or Strike!**
VPI 1924 01/04/25 02:19 PM ET
That would mean the merged conference would only get half the playoff bids
EDGEMAN 01/04/25 01:46 PM ET
Playoffs don't matter. Money matters
HokieAl 01/04/25 04:59 PM ET
So how does a merged ACC/B12 make any more money per program?**
Pylons 01/05/25 03:42 PM ET
How about no more than one auto-bid for the top 4 ranked conference...
