There will be a meeting in Atlanta on January 20, to address the many ways forward using private equity. (see graphic below) I have been anxious for these last few years about the many schools who must get their respective houses in-order prior to the construction of the 2026 playoff model. Realignment will occur. And it must occur soon. The complexity has only multiplied with the arrival of PE. Unanimity within conferences will prove extremely hard to achieve. But PE players don't want to make piecemeal agreements; the bigger, the better. Multi-conference deals would be golden, but there are way too many individual schools getting in the way of consensus. This very issue could be what froze the litigation between FSU/Clemson and The ACC. Many, many schools, who are not P2 level, are seeking a promotion. The ACC includes a bunch of them. Their legal adventures are impediments. That is also true for the fragile PAC for whom this could be fatal. Here are some notes from Flugaur's latest videos.
