Stewart Mandel, as always, proves he is a clueless dork with no idea what-
he's talking about. The primary, indispensable conceit of this article is that the CFP committee will place more ACC and Big 12 teams in the expanded CFP field because they now play crappier schedules and will have better W-L records in December than SEC and B1G schools, who will now play tougher schedules, which will lead to worse W-L records. That is, quite frankly, a patently absurd leap in logic, and really demonstrates how completely naive and ill-informed Stewie Mandel really is. It's like he's living in the year 2004.
Meanwhile, back on planet Earth, those of us with eyes, ears, and working brains realize that the expansion of the CFP was not to provide more access to the ACC, Big 12, and G5 conferences, it was to provide more access to the expanded SEC and B1G. The SEC now has 16 teams, and the B1G has 18. Almost every big "brand" of the last 50 years has now been added to the SEC or the B1G. There are 7 at-large spots. Anyone that actually thinks that those 7 at-large spots are going to 1-2 loss ACC and Big 12 teams that didn't win the conference is not living on Planet Earth.
Firstly, the SEC and B1G runners up are 100% getting in, every year, no question, period. That's 2 at-large spots gone. Notre Dame is 100% getting in if they have 3 or less losses, and could probably squeeze in with 4. So, that's going to be another at-large spot gone half the time. We're now down to 4 at-large spots, at best 5. Everyone saw what happened to FSU last year. Does anyone REALLY think they're going to put in 2 loss BYU, UCF, Kansas State, Louisville, Pitt, VT, etc. when they could put in 2-4 loss Oregon, Tennessee, USC, Oklahoma, Michigan, Florida, Penn State, Auburn, etc., etc., etc.? If you really, actually believe that, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you at fire sale rate.

B12 also had three teams in Texas (+ one in DFW) and were adding a fourth.
