One thing guaranteed.... the content owners/distributors will make more $
and the average "you" will pay more for what you are getting now.
Yes, some of "you" will cancel whatever version of cable "you" have now whether you get it from a cable company or a streaming company that is owned by all of the cable companies. But most of "you" will end up keeping both and those that don't will likely resubscribe at some point.
Once again, the content is owned by a handful of companies, those companies also own all of the distribution vehicles either as majority or minority owners (cable systems, Hulu, Sling, Youtube) and the majority of people will continue to pay for one of those services. Just like the whole cut the cord concept was a misnomer (you changed what came over the cord and pay more for internet and a little less for content by streaming it), this will have the same result.
Never has one of these market shifts benefited consumers as a whole (yes, I know, each of you has figured out a way to pay less, just don't add up all the different things you are paying for, it might surprise you).
